What is Haneda Airport?

Haneda Airport is an international airport in Tokyo, Japan. Although Narita International Airport is also well-known, Haneda Airport is more convenient for travel and business due to its proximity to the city center.

Narita International Airport and Haneda Airport are connected by a single railway, which is sometimes used to transfer between domestic flights.

Haneda Airport has an International Terminal (T3) and two domestic terminals (T1 and T2). T1 and T2 are for domestic flights. After flying into Haneda Airport, you can transfer to other cities in Japan from Terminal 1 or Terminal 2.

Attractions where you can feel Japan.

Haneda Airport Terminal 3 has restaurants where you can enjoy Japanese food, souvenir shops, and more, but this time we would like to introduce unique Japanese spots that we hope you will visit.

Haneda Nihonbashi

“Nihonbashi” is a bridge built in Tokyo in 1603.
It was the starting point of the road (Gokaido) that connected Tokyo with all of Japan, including Shizuoka, Osaka, Nagano, and Tochigi. You can still see the bridge if you take the train from Haneda Airport to Nihonbashi Station.

“Haneda Nihonbashi” is an object that is inspired by Nihonbashi.
It connects the 4th and 5th floors of Haneda Airport Terminal 3.

The signboard at the entrance of Nihonbashi on the 4th floor reads, “Starting your journey from Nihonbashi, then and now.” This signboard was made to connect the Nihonbashi, which was the starting point of Japan and connected all over Japan, and the “Nihonbashi of Haneda Airport,” which connects all over the world.

Please enjoy the beauty of the wooden bridge and the view of Haneda Airport from Haneda Nihonbashi.

Omatsuri Hiroba (Festival Plaza)

After climbing from the 4th to the 5th floor of Haneda Nihonbashi, you will reach “Omatsuri Hiroba” (Festival Square). Here, there are many capsule toys, souvenirs, and wooden plaques available.

Wooden plaques

“Kifuda” is a traditional Japanese custom of writing wishes or thoughts and dedicating them to the gods. At “Omatsuri Hiroba” (Festival Square), you can purchase a limited edition “Kifuda” available only at Haneda Airport and many people from around the world dedicate their wishes here.

Purchase a wooden tag from a vending machine and write your wish on it.

Display the wooden tag with your wish written on it. Japanese gods may read your wishes. When you visit Haneda Airport, be sure to dedicate a wooden tag.

Capsule toys

This is a machine that contains toys called “Gachapon” or “Gacha Gacha”. By inserting a 100 yen coin and turning the lever, you can get a prize. The price ranges from about 200 to 400 yen, and there are many types of prizes such as keychains, bags, and anime characters.

There are many different types of capsule toys. (The prizes are always changing.)

Insert money and turn the lever to receive a prize. How about using your leftover coins to try the Gacha-gacha experience, which is unique to Japan?

Souvenirs

There were also souvenirs available for purchase in vending machines. Pottery that allows you to feel Japan.

My recommendation is the “fox mask (top row)” and “maneki-neko (bottom row)”.

Both are traditional pottery that have been handed down since ancient times.

Next to the pottery vending machine, there was also “Akoya pearls”. Natural pearls have been harvested in Japan since ancient times and have been cherished as jewelry.

You can get one “Akoya pearl” accessory for a 1000 yen bill. How about taking it as a souvenir of Japan along with the capsule toys?

Observation Deck

The observation deck is also recommended. From the observation deck at Haneda Airport, you can see many planes taking off and landing.

The observation deck at Haneda Airport Terminal 3 is very spacious and you can see planes taking off and landing up close. There are cafes and vending machines near the observation deck, so it’s also nice to buy a drink and relax while watching th.

You can see planes from famous Japanese airlines such as “JAL” and “ANA,” as well as planes that are mainly active in Japan, such as “Peach” and “Skymark.” It’s a great photo spot for people who love airplanes!

How was it? Today we introduced some recommended spots at “Haneda Airport International Terminal”. Please visit us when you come to Japan.
